I am wanting to know because I am going out of town and would like to ask for a room on a floor that would be able to be rescued if a fire broke out. What's the highest floor of a hotel that a fire truck can reach?
try to stay low
dont worry about the fire truck as much as:
how high can I be and jump out of the window and stay alive
how long will it take me to get down the stairs
what is the emergency escape route
BasicallyTry to Save Your Own Life the FD will take time (u could b dead by then)
Time is used up by depending on someone else
1-how far is the fire dept
2-how long will it take them to get
3-which floor will they most likely start on
yur worried about the wrong thing if you worry about safety
Good Luck and Be Safe
Only You Can Prevent Forest Fires : ) (lol)
Eric Colens IIIWhat's the highest floor of a hotel that a fire truck can reach?
Most ladder trucks are in the 100' range but have to be operated at a slight angle reducing their reach to about 8 stories reliably.
But, your safety is much more dependent on the building your staying in. The most important features are, a properly maintained sprinkler system, alarm system and at least two stairwells out that are protected by fire walls and fire doors.
These items bring you much greater saftey that a ladder truck can give you. These features are with you at all times.
I heard that 6th floor is reachable by a fire appliance with a crane lift, but I'm not sure on the accuracy of that.
Personally I never choose to be more than about three or four floors up, anywhere. But then, I am paranoid!
that would depend on the fire truck. Some can reach much higher than others. You would have to ask the fire department in the area you go to how high their ladders can reach.
It depends on how big the truck is, one with a 60' ladder will reach 6 floors, and don't be so paranoid!
HI YA Miss Kimmy, I'll wager a guess, and say,12 stories.
