Does anyone know of a decent hotel with good rates around santa monica?

I need a place to say within an hour drive of Santa monica, CA. Anyone know of any good hotels and how to contact them? I don't want to stay in the ghetto or anything.Does anyone know of a decent hotel with good rates around santa monica?

I just spent all day on hotels.com researching the same thing. I ended up choosing the Doubletree at Santa Monica for $250/night. If you don't care about being ON the beach, I suggest Culver City. I stayed at the Travelodge there before and it wasn't real fancy at all but it had everything I needed and the room was bigger than I expected. I don't know what your exact specifications are so I suggest looking at hotels.com.
