if they are nice, kind, helpful give them a tip, that is the best you can do!When you stay at a nice hotel that has a free continental breakfast do you tip waiter/waitress?
If it is obvious that the enjoyment of my free meal was influenced by staff, I most definitely would leave $2-$4. Though I am in the restaurant service industry and understand the work. It baffles me though that others do not realize when others are serving them to better their enjoyment. Wake up people! Or they choose to ignore the extra service and chalk it up as part of hotel fees, (that you see none of) and choose not to be bothered by it. Scary thing is those are the people who will ask for the moon and the stars and consider it part of the package. Cheap skates! The richer, the worse.When you stay at a nice hotel that has a free continental breakfast do you tip waiter/waitress?
I think you should. We stayed at a Hampton Inn and they had continental breakfast. They had a woman out there and she filled things up on the bar and asked people if they needed anything. Then she gave us little boxes of mints. I gave her a tip. I think you should when the waitress does all that. That's extras and they really don't have to do anything but fill stuff up. I think you should give a tip.
If your hotel does not have a policy then set out a ';tip jar';
and always place the first dollar in yourself so others will know.
we travel often, and i have never seen anyone tip. most people load their plates and carry it up to their rooms
Good question!
Yes. As your other responses have stated, you are still being waited on and in some cases cleaned up after!
