How can I stay in a hotel room without an adult?

I'm going to a lacrosse camp back east and I need to stay in a hotel the night before so that I can get transportation from the camp. Issue is, I'm a minor and my mom can't get off work to go with me. Is there anyway that I may stay at a hotel if her credit card is making the reservation? Or am I able to make a reservation with my check card? How can I stay in a hotel room without an adult?
I believe you have to be 18 or 21 for some hotels. You would need an ID to show that your the right person whose credit card is on file. Anybody can say they had reservations under your mom's name if they didn't require ID. You would need an adult to pay for and check you in in person.
