What hotel on the Vegas Strip would be the best to stay at?

It's for our honeymoon but we also are trying not to spend a fortune. Any ideas? What hotel on the Vegas Strip would be the best to stay at?
The prices really climb on week ends. So if you are going mid week you'll get some good deals.

If you want to save a little, try looking at hotels off the strip. They will be a lot less expensive and then you can just take a cab to the strip. Very often they might have shuttles. The Key Largo is a mile off the strip. It is not a luxury place, but it is clean and you'd save money.

Another off strip option is to try downtown. Look up rates for the Golden Nugget or Lady luck. They arn't as nice as the strip, but they are more historic and downtown can be fun.

If you must be on the strip then I'd pick either MGM, New York, New York, Bellagio, Paris, Caeser's Palace, Mirage, Venice, The Hilton, Harrahs or Montego Bay. A room is a room. Shop around and see what kind of deal you can get. The above hotels I named all have access to monorails between casinos and they are all big and right smack dab on the strip. What hotel on the Vegas Strip would be the best to stay at?
My husband and I just got back from Las Vegas. We stayed at the Luxor because I have always wanted to stay there. The problem was that it is so far away from the rest of the casinos. We decided that next time we go, we will stay somewhere in the center of the strip. The Mirage had a great location, beautiful casino, and was well priced. That is where we decided to stay next time. If you want something romantic try the Venetian or the Palazzo, they are going to cost more though. Congrats on your marriage!
It all depends on when your going. For example, if there is a convention or large group staying at the MGM all the rooms in that area of the strip will be much higher than usual. Also if it is a holiday weekend you will spend more too.

For the money my favorite hotel on the strip if the MGM. It may be slightly higher than some other hotels but it is worth the money. Another good choice is Treasure Island. It is not as nice of a hotel and has a much smaller pool but it is cheaper and in a good location.

Your best bet is to go to websites like expedia.com and hotels.com and see the rates. Once you find a good rate you can go to the hotels website directly and book there. By booking at the hotel directly (for the most part) you have the option of canceling up to 48 hours before your trip. This way you can cancel if you find a better deal somewhere else.

Even after you book keep checking that hotel and others to see if the rate has dropped. Room rate change daily both higher and lower so keep and eye on them. My wife and I have a trip booked in June and I have change the room reservation over 4 times with each time saving over $20 a night.

Also if you go to the hotels website and sign up for email deals you will get offers emailed to you from time to time.
Try the Riviera. I stayed there its quite nice but its at the top of the Strip. Try The Luxor aparently its quite affordable about 100 per night + the fact that its a massive pyramid hehe right by the main hotels and casinos and also shopping Take a look on google and type in Las Vegas Accomodation and you should be able to find something suitable.
Avoid:

Tropicana

Imperial Palace

Excalibur

Circus Circus

Ballys

Sahara

Stratosphere

Casino Royale

Flamingo

NYNY

Harrah's

Riviera

Bills

On the fence:

Luxor

Planet Hollywood

Consider:

MGM

Mandalay Bay and The Hotel

Four Seasons

TI

Bellagio

Wynn

Palazzo

Paris

Mirage

Venetian

CP

Monte Carlo

You should be able to get great rates on MGM, Mirage, TI and MC in the summer time. Not sure what your price range is but even at the top end properties, you should be able to secure nights under $200 on the weekdays. Trust me you don't want to tell people you stayed at the Imperial Palace for your honeymoon. Do some searching around for vegas promo codes (fatwallet.com) and you will find the bext mix of appropriate hotel class and affordable nights. Have a great time!
Well after living in Vegas for a while, I have had the opportunity to say at many of the hotels on and off the strip. My favorite has been the Wynn and the rooms at Bellagio, but if you are looking for something more affordable then maybe try the Mirage (all rooms are being remodeled) or the MGM Grand (super comfy beds and really nice rooms). Good Luck!
I think that you need to be very careful here when looking for a nice hotel for memorable event rather than a cheap bargain. I noticed someone has posted Imperial Palace sure its good location and cheap but believe me you don鈥檛 want to have your honeymoon here. It is still possible to get a really nice decent hotel for a good price and do that for your honeymoon and then get the real cheap deal on your next trip.

We stayed our honeymoon at Mirage and it was quite simply perfect we got a good deal and stayed at MGM Grand with some money left over from our wedding this code is probably the best price you can get for Mirage and we have booked using this for Xmas

We usually book the cheapest room we can get and use the $20 trick see link below at check in and this works a treat at Mirage.

Good luck and congratulations

We just celebrated our anniversary in Vegas a few weeks ago. We stayed at the Venetian and got a great rate - about $200 a night. It was cheaper than Caesars, Bellagio, Mirage, and MGM, which were some others we considered. I did a lot of hunting for that rate, and can't remember where I found it.

All of the rooms are suites at the Venetian, and it is a really nice place.
The Deluxe rooms at Bally's are nice and would most likely be less expensive the Mirage. Flamingo and Harrah's are more central but rooms can be iffy. Some are very nice and some are small and tired.

Can't say about the Imperial Palace. I check into a King Deluxe Suite there on Sunday June 1 for 10 days.

Congratulations on your marriage and best wishes for your feature.

I would choose the Mirage or Planet Hollywood. Both are mid-priced, both are newly remodeled, and both are really in the ';center'; of the strip.

I live in LV and Planet Hollywood is my favorite on the strip.. I've been dying to stay there!
There are great moderately priced hotels on the strip. My recommondations are:

Luxor, MGM, Venetian, Bellagio, NYNY, Monte Carlo, Treasure Island, Aladdin, or Caesars.

Try www.hotwire.com and you can usually get good deals at the last minute.
Imperial Palace is great if you're not looking to spend a lot. It is a nice hotel and is centrally located on the Strip.
It really depends on what kind of experience you are looking for. I suggest doing some rate comparisions and checking things out here http://www.bestofvegas.com/hotels/

Have fun!
