What hotel would you recommend staying at in Vegas?

I'm looking for a decent hotel to stay at on the strip in Vegas for $200 a night or less. Any recommendations? What hotel would you recommend staying at in Vegas?
$200/night is a big budget in Vegas for a hotel room. They are all competing for guests, so you can find most hotels for less than $100/night. Only a select few, and a very nice select few at that, charge more than that for a standard room. So you have a couple of options.

OPTION ONE:

Stay in a less expensive hotel, but take advantage of room upgrades where maybe you could get a spa room or a suite. This would work on Luxor, Treasure Island, Flamingo, MGM Grand, Signature, etc.

OPTION TWO:

Stay in a very nice hotel in their standard room, no upgrades. But even the nicest hotel's standard room is something to talk about.

OPTION THREE:

Stay in a less expensive hotel in their standard room or with just a small upgrade and use the rest of the money for drinks, gambling, attractions, or shopping.

I personally like Excalibur, but I don't like to spend a lot of money on a room. We stay for $51/night mostly, and last time we stayed in one of their new widescreen rooms, and it was very nice. The colors and furniture were very warm, and I would think it would just be icing on the cake to have a widescreen room with a strip view.

I have always wanted to stay in Mandalay Bay. It is a beautiful hotel with an amazing pool area. There is a reason they call it ';The Beach.'; They usually run specials between $100 and $130 per night. But it's worth it, I'm sure. They also have THEhotel at Mandalay Bay, which is another tower of the hotel with only suites starting around $150/night.

Caesar's Palace is one of the classics on the strip, in my opinion. Of course their rooms are lush and pampering, not to mention the Forum Shops at Caesar's with Versace and Coach, etc. They tend to run specials of about $120/night.

If you want to sleep in luxury, Bellagio is one of the top hotels in Vegas. With specials from $150/night, it is one of the highest rated hotels in Vegas. You could also get a room with a fantastic view of the fountains.

Paris is supposed to be a romantic hotel, and is one that you can find for less than $100/night, but you could also potentially get an awesome view of the Bellagio fountains across the street, and center strip with lots of lights.

Wynn is I think the top hotel in Vegas, and they are in the final stages of completing their second tower, Encore, which will run more than $300/night. They have earned many awards and have specials from $159/night.

What hotel would you recommend staying at in Vegas?
$200 a night gives you a great choice even if it includes weekends. For this sort of budget the best Value is the MIrage great 5* quality hotel with great service, lovely staff and revamped rooms. Mandalay Bay is another beautifuil hotel with nice rooms these two really give the old Vegas level of luxury. If you want to save a bit of money and still stay somwhere nice have a look at MGM and Monte Carlo (but watch out for Monte Carlo as there is construction work going on) NYN is alos nice and then if you really want to save some money try Luxor or Exalibur.

Book your room directly with the hotel this will give you the best deal and lusually a fully refundable rate the best deals currently available in Las Vegas are listed here all are direct with the hotels. http://vegasuncovered.wordpress.com/2008鈥?/a>
As long as it is not the weekend, you should be able to choose from almost every Hotel on the Strip for less than that per night.

Vegas is NOT booming right now, but the PR Machine is not admitting it.
luxor they have stores, museums, clubs, a connected mall to the mandalay, good restaurants, good shows. theres something to do for everyone.
Flamingo Hilton is very nice

ask for a room with the view of the strip

DONT stay at Treasure Island- it reeks of mold, mildew

I recommend MGM or Mirage. Before you book check the current hotel promotions in order to get a good price. Check http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com for this.
Tropicana,classic nice hotel!
if you have some extra penny to spend, i recommend the WYNN. its awesome and so comfy.
